No Silence Here
Wayne Mason
People are so afraid
of silence, you hear
them on break talking
loudly on cell phones
or to no one in particular
but not really saying
anything at all
The young ones talk
about sexual exploits
no one really believes
while the rest about
sports or talk shows
but it all just evolves
into loud meaningless
uniform dull roar
There are already
enough voices in
my head and I put
this pen to paper
in attempt to bring
about silence in
my withered skull
If it were only
that easy with
people
