Welcome to The Poetry Warrior!

Hello everybody! I would like to first thank everyone who
submitted to our second issue. This one has been a blast! I have
enjoyed editing and assembling this issue and I am very honored
by those of you who have allowed me to review your work. There
is some amazing talent in this issue, that I'm sure you will all enjoy.

I am very glad to be able to present you with a new feature that I
hope will continue in all of our subsequent issues - flash fiction! We
have two stark, brutal, and beautiful short fiction pieces for you
this issue, that I'm sure will put a chill in your bones and ring in
your ears for days.

Enjoy!

About the Editor
The Poetry Warrior is the brainchild of Abigail Beaudelle, a
seventeen year old homeschooler from North Carolina. A member
of Mensa, Abigail has a great passion for just about anything
artistically oriented. Abigail has no qualifications for doing what she
does, yet she has embraced the DIY ideals of the ezine culture - the
notion that anybody with the drive, ability, and passion deserves the
chance to be heard. Abigail began work on The Poetry Warrior on
August 17, 2008 and has so far been overwhelmed with the amount
of positive feedback. She plays the role of owner, editor, publisher,
graphic designer, and everything else in-between that might be
required for the project. The Poetry Warrior is the result of this
invested time, emotion, and money - a showcasing of the best
poetic and artistic talent she can find.

The Poetry Warrior is a sort of anomaly in the independent lit scene
- it has evolved backwards. The Poetry Warrior came into existence
before Abigail had published
a single thing (This is rapidly
changing, however, as she has had her work accepted by four
publications in the last month). As much of an artistic and
intellectual venture for her as her poetry, The Poetry Warrior strives
to challenge the acceptable norms and redefine who exactly can be
a 'publisher'. The learning curve has been huge - as it was Abigail's
intent to jump into the project head-first and learn what she needs to
keep the project afloat from experience as problems and questions
arise.

Abigail has three dogs and a cat, takes art courses at her local
community college, and is constantly leaving food sitting too long in
the microwave.

             A Note On Content Advisories

I personally do not believe in censorship. I do, however,
believe that everybody should have the right to monitor what
they take in. Therefore, some of your poems have been
marked 'content warning'. It is my wish that you can
understand my reasoning and respect my decisions regarding
this matter. Thank you.
